At this time, the BIO-PA 3+2 program is only available for first-year students. We invite transfer students to complete another major and apply for Master's in Physician Associate programs after completion of their baccalaureate degree.
 

Who Can Apply?

We recognize that each transfer student has unique needs and a unique academic background. You’ve already taken classes in pursuit of your goals. At Alvernia, we’ll work with you to make the process smooth and utilize previous coursework to fulfill degree requirements. Generally, students transferring to Alvernia fall into one of two categories:
 

Undergraduate Transfer Students


This option is for traditional undergraduate students, typically 18-23 years of age, who have completed college-level courses following completion of high school. These students are interested in taking classes during the day in Reading, Pa. The student may also be interested in living on campus. Coursework is split into a traditional fall and spring semester format.

Traditional Undergraduate Transfer Students

  • Completed online application via the or via
  • Evidence of high school completion/graduation. Evidence can include high school transcripts, diploma, GED scores or equivalent.
  • Official transcripts from all previous higher education institutions. An official transcript is one sent directly from your former institution to ×îÐÂ91ÖÆƬ³§. Official transcripts can be sent via mail or through services such as Parchment.
  • DD214 and Certificate of Eligibility for Veteran Students utilizing military benefits.


Students can apply at any time. Through a rolling admission process, we continually review applications and accept students. Start dates will vary by degree type and academic program. Adult Education and Graduate Transfer Students 


This option is for nontraditional adult students. Often, these students are working professional returning to school after a break. Courses are generally offered at night or online which allows students to balance the demands of school with the other commitments in their life. Coursework is generally completed in a 7-week mod format and available year-round in fall, spring and summer terms.
 

Graduate students are like adult education students but have already earned a bachelor’s degree and will have completed some graduate course work. The location, time, and format for graduate courses will vary by the graduate program of choice.

Adult Education Transfer Students

  • Completed online application via the Alvernia
  • Evidence of high school completion/graduation. Evidence can include high school transcripts, diploma, GED scores or equivalent*.
  • Official transcripts from all previous higher education institutions
  • A 2.0 GPA or higher is required
  • A photocopy of current Pennsylvania registered nurse license (submit after NCLEX is completed, for RN to BSN applicants only)
  • DD214 and Certificate of Eligibility for Veteran Students utilizing military benefits


*This requirement may be waived if an official college transcript is providing validating the completion of 15 credits or more from an accredited school.


Graduate Transfer Students

  • Completed online application via the Alvernia
  • Proof of a bachelor’s degree and official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Transcript indicating grades received in completed graduate courses and completed course descriptions or syllabus
  • DD214 and Certificate of Eligibility for Veteran Students utilizing military benefits


Additionally, each graduate program will have its own unique requirements and documentation necessary for admission. Examples include letters of recommendations, personal statements, minimum GPA standards, a resume or curriculum vitae, licenses, and certifications. Please review the graduate admissions requirements for your program of choice.
