Biography
I have continually expanded my knowledge throughout my career to serve students better. I hold certifications as a Reading Specialist and Dyslexia Practitioner, as well as an educator in Elementary Education, Special Education, and English from Kutztown University, Penn State University, ×îÐÂ91ÖÆƬ³§, and Endicott College. My dedication to professional development led me back to Penn State for Special Education Supervisory Certification in 2012. My educational path has seen me in various roles, each contributing to my unique skill set. From teaching 5th grade at St. Catherine of Siena School to directing religious education at St. Francis de Sales Church, I have embraced diverse educational environments. I have also had the privilege of teaching at the elementary through high school levels in the Special Education Department of Conrad Weiser School District, where I also co-taught English, Social Studies, and Health. Transitioning into leadership roles, I served as an Itinerant Teacher Consultant and Gifted Coordinator before assuming the position of Secondary Level Special Education Supervisor at Wilson School District. In this capacity, I supported a team of dedicated teachers and related service providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational services. In 2016, I joined ×îÐÂ91ÖÆƬ³§, primarily teaching First-Year-Writing courses, a class that I thoroughly enjoy teaching. My dedication to lifelong learning extends beyond the classroom, as I actively pursue writing, gardening, and culinary arts interests. Additionally, I volunteer as a reading tutor and an IEP Advocate. My husband recently retired, and we look forward to traveling and spending more time with our two sons, James and Seth, and their families. I believe in empowering the next generation of learners; I am deeply committed to fostering academic excellence and promoting a love for learning in all students. I truly believe that education is the key to unlocking student achievement and am dedicated to creating inclusive learning environments where every student feels supported and prepared to meet their academic and personal goals.
