MSAT student Susan Pirollo in athletic training classroom

Susanna Pirollo 鈥22 values the observational experience she鈥檚 receiving with the university鈥檚 athletic training staff. As a Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) student and track and field athlete, she鈥檚 getting a different perspective of athletics. 鈥淭hese observational experiences have allowed me to learn from the athletic trainers and get an inside understanding of how an athletic training room operates and the role of athletic trainers throughout the day during rehabilitation hours, practices and games.鈥

Pirollo sees herself working for a university or perhaps even the military someday as a certified athletic trainer and hopes to be able to use this knowledge and experience to coach in the future as well. 鈥淏eing able to continue to participate in track and field was very important to me and Alvernia has allowed me to continue to pursue my athletic goals in addition to helping prepare me for my future career as an athletic trainer.鈥
