Get a head start on your Alvernia experience by joining us a few days before orientation for a free on-campus summer camp from August 18 to 22!
There are three distinct camps to enrich your end of summer, allow you to move in early (commuters are welcome, too!), and provide opportunities to make new friends just before the semester begins:
- AU Bound hosted by our Office of Mission & Ministry. Alternative Breaks are an Alvernia tradition where students get to immerse themselves in a week of service, reflection, and community bonding. This trip will allow incoming students to get acquainted with Alvernia, its Franciscan Tradition, and our surrounding Reading community through service!
- Honors Camp is hosted by the Director of our Honors Program and is only for students in our honors program. The Honors Program Pre-Orientation Camp will help you think outside the box and expand your horizons! Through mind challenges, games, and group exploration of local sites of interest, the Honors Camp is the perfect way to transition to college, make new friends, and learn about Alvernia and the Honors Program!
- O'Pake 'Dream it' Camp: Calling all O鈥橮ake Fellows! It鈥檚 go time. Join us to fully immerse yourself in the exciting world of entrepreneurial thinking, innovation and leadership. Get ready to cast your vision, create your own personal vision board, and bring that vision to life through our Big Idea Contest. Are you ready to start dreaming? During this process, you will work with peer mentors, professionals in the community, Alvernia鈥檚 business faculty, and expert speakers from around the region (Hello connections and resume builders)! Come dream with us! Only for recruited O'Pake Fellows.
All meals are included with these free camps, including a barbecue and pool party at the home of President Glynis Fitzgerald, Ph.D.
