Francis and Clare sought to live a life of evangelic poverty that was rooted in the incarnation of Jesus, the Word made flesh. Central to who we are as a Catholic Franciscan University and drawing on the foundations of Francis and Clare, we promote our Catholic identity on campus through experiences of worship, education and service. With a welcoming spirit, we seek to provide engaging experiences with all who want to know more about the Catholic Tradition.
- Worship: Every Sunday evening we offer students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to celebrate Mass as a community in Holy Savior Chapel, Veronica Hall.
- Education: Through a partnership with Saint John Baptist de la Salle Parish, we offer RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation) to those in our university community interested in becoming fully initiated members of the Catholic Church.
- Service: We emphasize Catholic Identity through our Alternative Breaks around the United States and abroad. We also provide retreats to Alvernia students and employees throughout the year.
